Full hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric. Generators are permitted. Potable water is available in multiple locations. Special pricing may be applied for certain weekends or events.

Sites will be assigned on the day of arrival. If you have multiple campers who want to be together, you must contact the Rental Manager at 812-372-6133.

The Fairgrounds has two dumpsites and multiple water sources along several roads. Each spot is at least 80’ long and 50’ wide and will accommodate pulling through or backing in, with space for approximately three vehicles.

Sites will be marked on a map given to campers and marked along the roads.

Parking Attendants will be available to help locate campsites.

 

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in time is 10:00 am. Signs will direct campers to check-in routes on the North, West, or South sides of the fairgrounds with a Parking Attendant available to direct campers to the correct lot. Campers can go directly to the location provided by the Rental Manager.

Normal check-out is by 2:00 pm unless agreed otherwise with the Rental Manager. On Monday, April 6, the check-out time will be 6:00 pm. Campers may leave the fairgrounds without notifying the Rental Manager.

Fairground Campsite Use and Responsibilities

These terms of use govern your use of the Fairgrounds and provide information.  When you click accept and make a credit card payment, you are accepting these terms.  Alternatively, you can sign below when you arrive at the fairgrounds to camp.

  1. Management decisions on safety, appearance and compliance are final. Management includes Fair Board Directors or the Rental Manager.
  2. Normal Check-in time is 9am and check-out time at noon; check with the rental manager for alternative arrangements.
  3. If the camping area is crowded, you may park two vehicles per site and more vehicles in other locations on the grounds.
  4. Campfires are only permitted in fire rings or in a confined cooking device. Campfire should never be left unattended – be aware of local burn bans in Bartholomew County.  Firewood may be brought in from Non-Quarantined counties only.  Please store neatly on your site.
  5. Insurance: The Bartholomew County 4-H Fair assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to your Camping Unit or other property of any campers, their families or guests, or to the Fairgrounds property.  You must provide your own property / liability insurance covering your property.
  6. Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash or under control. It is your responsibility to clean up after your pet.  Please do not allow your pet to use the restroom on someone else’s site.  Pets must not be left unattended outside in your campsite or outside overnight.  The use of a portable dog fence is allowed if grass and weeds are kept trimmed (for longer term camping.)   
  7. Absolutely no Black or Gray water dumping on Fairgrounds Property.
  8. Conduct / Responsibility
    1. You are responsible for the safety, supervision and conduct of your children and your guests. You are also responsible for the vandalism and/or destruction of fair property or property of other campers by your children or guests.  You shall be liable for the full value of destruction of fair property by your children or guests. 
    2. You are responsible for any policy infractions, unreasonably annoying activities or unruly behavior relating to yourselves, your family or your guests. Sanctions up to and including immediate expulsion without refund are possible at the sole discretion of Management. 
    3. Any damages or excessive cleaning incurred as a result of the customer’s stay may result in additional fees.
    4. Respect your neighbors: The Fair want both you and your neighbors to be comfortable on your individual campsites.  Excessive noise / loud music will not be permitted. 
    5. Quiet time is midnight to 7am.
    6. All trash should be collected in bags or trash receptacles. Please do not leave trash at your campsite.  Please put trash bags in dumpsters before leaving the campsite.    
    7. Smoking is not allowed in any indoor facilities (buildings, barns, restrooms, etc). If a customer violates this policy, he/she may be asked to leave and assessed excessive cleaning fees. Smoking is allowed in open outdoor areas of the property, including campsites; however, smoking is not allowed within eight (8) feet of the entrance to a building.
    8. Golf carts should be driven by registered, licensed drivers with personal liability.
    9. Fireworks are not permitted.
    10. Alcohol should be kept at your campsite and not brought into other areas of the park except for approved occasions. Use of any illegal substance is strictly forbidden. 
    11. Drone policy: Due to the privacy and safety of our guests, drone may only be flown with approval of management and in designated areas. 

Long term camping:

  1. Long-term camping rates start at $1000/month for a full-hookup site.
  2. Mowing will occur weekly; please move obstructions to allow us to mow. Rugs are allowed only on gravel for long-term stays.  If rugs are placed on grass, you will be responsible for reseeding or you may pay the Fairgrounds $200 for reseeding.

About the Grounds

Nearly 100 acres are available for camping, except for the annual Fair week. Nearly 100 Full-hookup sites and a lot of room for primitive camping (including with generators).  Full hookup sites have water, sewer, and 30 & 50 amp electric. Two central bathrooms if requested, one with showers. One centrally located dump station across from Building 1, with a secondary site on the Midway if requested.

You can also book buildings and campsites together. We have two buildings available for rental year-round with heat and air conditioning. We have another building with heat and air conditioning available for rental from March through October and multiple buildings available for rental that do not have heat and air conditioning.

ABSOLUTELY  NO Alcohol or Illegal Drugs, Pets, Skateboards, and/or Malicious Behavior allowed. No guns (except on-duty law enforcement). 

No motorized vehicles (scooters, Gators, etc.) within the main fairgrounds without authorization and insurance.

In case of emergency, please call 911 and provide the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds as your location. Utilize existing buildings to help pinpoint your location and provide your Campsite Numbers (which is located on your electric pedestal). 

Severe Weather Alert – please be aware of any dangerous weather in the area.

Damages

For cabins, recreation buildings and other indoor reservable facilities, customers will be required to sign a damage and excessive cleaning release form at check-in. A credit or debit card will be added to the reservation to complete the check-in process. Any damages or excessive cleaning incurred as a result of the customer’s stay may result in additional fees.

Financial Responsibilities & Policies

Deposit to Secure Renewal of Sites for group camping: In order to secure your seasonal site for the next year, please remember to turn in your non-refundable $250 deposit by November 1st, which will be applied to your site price. If we don’t receive your deposit, then the site will be considered open and promptly added to our Open Sites list.

The site may not be transferred to another family or sublet without prior permission from management.

If you desire to terminate this agreement before the expiration date, management must be notified. Your camping rate will change from the Seasonal Rate to the current monthly or daily rate, whichever is applicable. The past due, if any, will be payable upon termination. If a refund is due, it will be issued upon termination and will be credited within 5-7 business days via the original payment method used.
